richard nixon (january 20,1969-august 9,1974)
Richard Nixon became the 37th president in the United States and the only chief-in-commander to resign in office during the 1970's. After the presidential administration under LBJ in 1963, Richard Nixon won the presidential election of 1968,as Republican to promise America ended the Vietnam War. During his presidency, Nixon face challenges through his career to end the Vietnam War and the anti-movement since the war conflicted. The success of his career through 1970's was his visit to communist red china with his wife,Pat, negotiating china with trade through U.S oversea borders, and the visit to the Soviet Union to limit their nuclear missiles by signed SALT 1 Act in 1972 which far led to the end of the war. After his reelection, he supported Earth Day to clean the environment when there were some issue like pollution in air and water creating the clean air act in 1970 and creating two new agencies,Department of Natural Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency. But in 1973, Nixon was involved the Watergate Scandal in Washington D.C. to steal the elections votes and was investigate by the white house, telling the media he was not a crook before they impeach him,suddenly resigns on August 9,1974 and become the first president to resign in the white house.
john f. kennedy (january 21,1961-november 22,1963)
John F. Kennedy become the 35th president in the United States during the segregation period to be involved with civil rights movement leader, Martin Luther King Jr. During his presidency in 1961 as president, he formed in alliances with Latin America called the Alliances of Progress foster their economic system known as Peace. His embarrassment was the bay of pigs, when he try to overthrow Fidel Castro, the communist leader in Cuba, surrounding by Cuban CIP refugees. The international crisis's was Cuban Missile Crisis by Cuba allies Russia sends missiles to Cuba by bombing parts of America and put stress upon JFK himself in 1962. In 1963, he assassinated in Dallas, Texas by unknown shooter and LBJ was named as president during his death. One more thing, JFK had hardships with civil rights against segregation in the south where freedom riders in 1961 were exploded by racism and hatred, and bloody sunday happened during the march of the movement. His successful attempt was the march of Washington in 1963 and the Civil Rights in 1964 led by president Lyndon B. Johnson.
